FAQ
Welcome to the Revelation Tattoo family! Whether you're planning your very first tattoo or adding another piece to your collection, we want your experience at our studio to be comfortable, transparent, and safe. Here are the answers to the questions we get asked most often.
Booking & Appointments
How do I book an appointment?
The best way to book is to contact your preferred artist directly through their individual portfolio links on our Artists page, or drop us a line via our Contact form. Because our artists manage their own books and specialize in different styles (from fine line to realism and traditional blackwork), reaching out to them directly ensures you get the right person for your vision.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes! Although we operate primarily by appointment to ensure every client gets the dedicated design and session time they deserve. We also have same-day openings or walk-in availability depending on our artists' schedules. Give the shop a call at 904-541-4169 before you head over to see if we have an open chair!
Do I need to leave a deposit?
Yes. To lock in your appointment date and time, our artists require a non-refundable deposit. This deposit secures your spot and goes directly toward the final price of your tattoo on the day of your session.
Do you offer consultation appoitments?
Yes, if you would like to discuss your ideas, or have questions for your artist we offer free consultations, just give our shop a call 904-541-4169 or reach out to your artist directly!
Do you do tattoo cover ups?

Smaller, straightforward pieces are usually given a flat price up front.
-
Larger, multi-session custom projects (like sleeves or full back pieces) are typically charged at an hourly rate. Your artist will provide a clear estimate during your initial consultation.

Studio Policies & Safety
What are your cleanliness and sterilization standards?
Your health and safety are our absolute top priorities. Revelation Tattoo Company operates under the highest standards of medical-grade sterilization. We use 100% single-use, disposable needles and tubes for every single client. Our station surfaces, tools, and chairs are thoroughly sanitized before and after every single session.
Can I bring a friend with me?
You are welcome to bring afriend along for moral support! However, to maintain a safe, focused environment for our artists and to keep our floor clean and compliant with health codes, we only allow one additional person in tattoo stations, additional guests may be asked to wait in our comfortable lobby area during the actual tattooing process.
Can I get a tattoo if I am under 18 with parental consent?
Per Florida State Law, we do not tattoo anyone under the age of 16. For minors aged 16 or 17, a legal guardian must be present, and you must provide a notarized Florida Department of Health parental consent form along with valid state-issued photo IDs for both the minor and the parent/guardian. Please contact the shop directly ahead of time to ensure you have exactly what you need.
Preparing for Your Session
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
To make your session as comfortable as possible, we recommend following these steps:
-
Eat a solid meal 1 to 2 hours before your appointment to keep your blood sugar up.
-
Stay hydrated starting the day before.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that easily leaves the area to be tattooed accessible.
-
Do not consume alcohol or take blood-thinning pain relievers (like aspirin) for 24 hours prior to your session.
-
Bring a distraction like headphones, a book, or a fully charged phone.
Can I use numbing cream?
Yes, and we do offer some here at the shop, we ask that you purchase your numbing cream any day before your appointment as it has to be applied about an hour and a half before your session. If you are considering using a tattoo numbing cream, please discuss it with your artist before your appointment. Certain over-the-counter creams can affect the texture of the skin and how it takes the ink. We can guide you on safe, approved options if you are worried about pain management.
Aftercare
How do I take care of my new tattoo?
Proper aftercare is crucial to how your tattoo heals and looks long-term! We will give you a detailed, physical aftercare instruction sheet at the end of your session, but the core rules are simple:
-
Keep it clean by gently washing it with unscented, antibacterial soap and warm water.
-
Pat dry with a clean paper towel; never rub it.
-
Apply a very thin layer of recommended ointment or unscented lotion.
-
Do not pick, scratch, or peel the flaking skin.
-
Avoid swimming, soaking in tubs, and direct sunlight for at least 2 to 3 weeks while it heals.
